Jane McMillan
was one of the guest speakers at the Oxford Union on
Wednesday 25th January. The topical subject “Fur
+ Fashion = Fair?” was filmed as part of a
Real World special for the BBC. Other guest speakers
joining Jane on the panel were Heather Mills McCartney,
who has been a constant campaigner for the rights of
others and, along with her husband, her latest target
is the fur industry; Mark Glover, Award winning
director of Respect for Animals; Richard D North,
Writer, broadcaster, columnist and Media fellow of the
Institute of Economic Affairs and Benjamin Falk,
Journalist and editor of Stockholm’s Dorian Fashion
Magazine and television station. The debate was chaired
by Baroness Buscombe, Shadow Minister for Education
and Skills, and formerly Opposition Spokeswoman in the
House of Lords for the Department of Culture, Media
and Sports.
