Press Release
26 February 2009

Fall 2009 Mac Millan present an intoxicating melange of bold architectural and geometric patterns fused with hand-crafted techniques and digital printing. Designer Jane McMillan creates fresh, innovative shapes that personify audacious femininity on silk crepe de chine, tafetta, jersey and chiffon.

The collection showcases diaphanous billowing chiffon silhouettes, quirky taffeta layered pleating and black jersey draping which demonstrates dexterous cutting skills.

An eclectic print combination with an exciting colour palette, ranging from vivid pink and yellow to monochrome black and white, forges a spectrum tran-seasonal trend. Velvet appliqué on black chiffon demonstrate hand-crafted techniques inspired by the African Ndebele tribes’ painted houses and oversized hand embroidered taffeta beads re-define a traditional craft with directional execution.

February 2009 Mac Millan will be showing for the first time in Milan amongst twenty of the most promising International fashion designers at Spazio Lattuada, a new, innovative showcase; and in March will show the collection during Tokyo Fashion Week where Mac Millan have been chosen as one of only two UK designers to showcase their collections with the European Union showcase.
