| Mexican Memoirs
Summer 2010 Mac Millan present an intoxicating array of
digitally printed silk dresses and separates inspired by
designer Jane McMillan's travels throughout Asia and Mexico.
Mexico's vibrant wildlife inspires blue and yellow feather
printed silk crêpe de chine and chiffon while the
brilliant hues and saturation of Mayan weave are embodied
in Mac Millan's unique luminous silk prints and, new for
Mac Millan, cool cotton/silk voile.
With the ease and fluidity of Japanese tradition, originally
constructed dresses embrace origami style folding techniques.
The back of a crêpe de chine dress wraps entirely
round to the centre front forming angular pleats while a
tapered dress has low cut sleeves hanging in soft folds.
Effortless relaxed glamour is personified in a capacious
voile billowing top and wrap skirt.
Mac Millan's signature pleated chiffon dresses, an established
favourite with celebrities, are particularly evident with
plunging or pleat scarf necks. Long or short, these will
undoubtedly be the stars of the season.
