Mac Millan, nominee of 2007's Scottish Designer of the
Year, returns to London to show at On/Off's prestigious
fashion week venue - The Royal Academy of Art. Having spent
the past few years on-schedule exclusively at New York's
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the label now celebrates a decade
of success.
Presenting "Oceania" - an über-cool collection
where opulence is the key focus of flowy red carpet gowns,
chic cocktail dresses and a range of glamorous separates.
This prêt-a-porter, art nouveau inspired, collection
fuses casual couture with classic luxury.
The elegant array of silk chiffon, organza and crepe-de-chine
fabrics are juxtaposed with bold and structured shapes created
by pleating and braided coils.
With prints inspired by structures from nature refined
silhouettes are patterned with light floral forms and dramatic
jewels. Celebrating a sea-goddess femininity, ribbon-like
shapes and Swarovski rhinestones add rhythm and sparkle
to the shades of haute pearl, ocean blues and greens against
shades of pink.

Editors Notes: Mac Millan the label
was established in 1997 with collections shown twice annually
at London and New York Fashion Weeks, and occasionally in
Paris. Founder Jane McMillan has a long highly experienced
history of design working in the studios of Bella Freud, Ally
Capellino and with fashion legend Ossie Clark following graduation
from The London Fashion Institute. |
